It's been a while a while since I've posted about my husband.  You know...the one that doesn't love me as much as your husband loves you.  He's due for another post dedicated to just him.

Back when juC and I were young and in love...I mean, younger and not nearly as in looooove as we are now, and newly married, I did a "spotlight" of him on my blog.  That blog went bye bye, BUT, this was back in the day when I used to actually write the questions and answers on a paper then transfer it to my blog.  So the other day I was looking through my old game score keeping notebook/
recipe notebook and found the spotlight questions and his answers.  I couldn't help but have a good laugh as I read through it.  Then I had the thought that it would be fun to ask the same questions, nearly 7 years later.  You know, to see how much he's grown and matured.

I also did another spotlight of him back in 2009.  You can read that insightful blog post here.

So for your reading pleasure, here are his answers to the questions.  White answers from 2007, and green answers from 2014.  And ( ) are my two cents.  Because how can I NOT out in my two cents?!  I did not read him his previous answers until after I asked them again.

1.  What is your favorite time of day?
Breakfast time, lunch time, dinner time
Ooooo....Evening.  Did I say morning before?

2.  Where in the world would you love to visit?
Costa Rica

(At least he's consistent with some things.)

3.  What is your favorite kind of bean?
Black bean or green beans.  Wax beans.  Refried beans.
Black beans.  Jelly.

4.  Have you or anyone else ever painted your nails?
Yes.

5.  What is your wife's best quality?
Patience...her humor.  Her passion for life.
Her hair.  No...Don't say hair.  I don't know.  Ummm...how she thinks of others.
(Glad he didn't have to strain himself to answer that one.)

6.  What is your most memorable date?
Senior year of high school.  Just kidding!!  Great falls with my wife cause it was a beautiful setting with a beautiful person.

7.  If you had to live in a tree, what kind would it be?
An oak tree.
A umm...Redwood.

8.  Do you ever drink milk out of the carton?
No.  Orange juice, yes.
...Not really milk.  Orange juice.
(Seriously, so consistent with the important stuff!)

9.  Who is your favorite sibling?
I don't have a favorite.  I love them all the same.  ....Lorinda.

10.  What are you holding in your hands right now?
aniC's feet.

(Yes folks.  That one answer right there perfectly sums up the biggest change that has occurred since the last time.  I would be happy to never see a cell phone again!)

11.  What causes the most fights between you and your wife?
Phase 10
Do we fight?  Money.
(Truly, we don't fight.  I mostly just fuss and he mostly just pretends to listen.)

12.  Why is your mother-in-law so great?
Because she's your mom.

13.  What is your favorite 20s year old memory?
When I got married.

WIGAC spotlight---

it's been a while since i have done a spotlight. which is why i appropriately named it "when i get a chance spotlight".


i decided to spotlight a special member of my family. he's near and dear to me,. actually he's so near to me that he came from me. so i figured it was about time for him to be spotlighted. so i sat down with him and had an interview.


meet my dear, sweet little jC.



me: hey there little one. are you ready for this interview?
jC: ...........bububu....


me:: ok, good. let's get this party started. let me start by asking you this: do you just feel so completely lucky to have me as a mother?
jC: ......


me: i thought so. so, tell me. is it as awkward for you as it is for me when random people in the store stop and talk to you and ask you questions that you obviously can't answer? like...hey there little man, how old are you? and aren't you cute, what's your name?
jC: .........


me: yeah, it definitely makes me feel uncomfortable and i don't know how to respond when they do it either.
so tomorrow is fathers day. is there anything special you'd like to say to your daddy?
jC: ...........dadada...dada.....

me: awww, that's sweet. he'll love to hear that.
now here's what i really want to know. why do you only take hour naps? is it to test me and drive me crazy or is it because you dont want to waste time on a useless thing like sleep?
jC: .........


me: fair enough.
and another thing i've really wanted to know...why do you love your daddy more than me? why can't you love us equally? i mean, i know he's great...but i am the one, after all, who carried you for 9 months and labored for you, and supplied you with the nutrition you needed. so why the favoritism?

me: alrighty. i guess we will agree to just disagree on that one.

Sadly.... very very sadly, this will be my last year in my 30's. I am so sad about that. Really really sad. Sad. Sad. ......... Saaaad. Sad.

Oh my, that's too much. Can I take just two presents? I want new shoes and a video camera. Oh wait, and a good camera. So I'll take three if that's okay.

what is your most memorable birthday ever?

Oh, you know Ma doesn't like it when I bring it up, but my 17th, when my family forgot my birthday. Seriously, that's memorable stuff right there. It was 16 Candles, except it was 17.

do you ever just sit, and think about how lucky you are to have me as a sister, for hours on end?

what's the sweetest thing gary ever didn't do for you on your birthday?

Surprised me. Not a party, but a surprise at all. But he does write me poems, and that's the sweetest thing he HAS done for me for my birthday.

what do you plan to eat for breakfast for your birthday TOMORROW?

I think we are celebrating my birthday today (b/c of short day tomorrow) and so I am skipping breakfast for a big lunch. I can't decide, sushi or Italian (food)? And then on my actual birthday, I am skipping breakfast b/c I don't eat breakfast. :)

because you love me so much, would you give me all of your birthday presents that you get TOMORROW on your birthday?

So far I have a gift card to Sonic... and I know you love the Sonic, but I think I'll pass on passing it over. Sorry. But I still love you so much.

It's a short day for the kids in school so I can't go to Savannah (wah!) and I have to teach Young Womens that evening... so just the same ole thing apparently.

I can't make any promises. But I can commit to really wanting to and I can promise I'll do my best. :-D

WIGAC spotlight--old school

remember back in the day when i used to do weekly spotlights for about a few weeks? well, i'm bringing it back to the old school. except i can't promise it will be every week. i will certainly try, but it would probably be more appropriately named "when i get a chance spotlight". or WIGAC spotlight for short.
